As a senior, Uhlir rushed for 995 yards and 19 touchdowns and had five 100-yard rushing games for Coach Andrew Carlson’s 8-2 team. Uhlir also threw for four touchdowns and added 29 tackles and two fumble recoveries on defense. He was a first-team Class C-2 all-state pick by both the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star.
Uhlir helped the Braves to a 9-3 record and the state semifinals as a junior by rushing for 917 yards and 13 touchdowns. He added 61 tackles on defense. He was a first-team Class C-2 all-state pick by the Lincoln Journal Star as a running back and received first-team C-2 honors from the World-Herald as a linebacker.
Uhlir had 813 yards and eight rushing touchdowns as a sophomore, while adding 59 tackles and two interceptions to help Battle Creek to an 8-4 record and state semifinal appearance. He rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman.
Uhlir finished second in Class C in both the shot put and discus as a junior. Uhlir’s shot put of 61-11.5 was the second-best throw in Class C state meet history.
Trent's father, Todd, was an I-back for Nebraska in the 1990s and was a member of the Huskers' 1994 and 1995 national championship teams.
